The BARC Self-Advocacy program promotes independence and provides our Clients with the educational tools they need to better understand their rights. Through active community service, participation in local groups like Bakersfield ARC Council, and attending state-wide advocacy conferences, our Clients gain leadership skills, a sense of community and valuable life experiences. By taking action to address issues that affect the disabled community, our self-advocates promote public awareness and initiate change that will benefit society as a whole.
