Tailored Day Services — Job Coach

Under the direction of the Program Manager will assist Clients with increased integration and inclusion opportunities to develop or maintain employment, opportunities for volunteer activities and opportunities to pursue postsecondary education through customization directed services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid California Driver License with a good driving record and insurance coverage
  • T.B. clearance will be required
  • CPR-First Aid certification is desirable
  • Background check for Criminal Identification through Department of Justice
  • Previous work or volunteer experience with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferable

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for providing case management services to an assigned group of clients per agency procedures.
  • Supervise and job coach as needed with the individual being served on a one to one basis while at a job site, intern work site or volunteer work. The job coaching includes alternative methods of service such as; Over the phone training, Facetime, Zoom, or any other form of training necessary to assist the individual in being successful in the training being provided.
  • Develops appropriate community networking to facilitate client work training/employment in community-based enterprises and community integration opportunities.
  • Provide Customized training with flexible schedules including assisting Clients in post-secondary education programs and increased community integration activities.
  • Encourages clients to develop appropriate socialization and work/education ethics. Focusing on appropriate dress personal hygiene, attendance, social interactions and punctuality.
  • Encourages good communication skills.
  • Responsible for providing ongoing support services to clients in Employment, Volunteer activities and Post-Secondary Education who have not reached stabilization.
  • Responsible for completing all required documentation and reports per agency procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Attend all required meeting and services.
  • Will confer with other staff and appropriate others as necessary to insure a coordinated effort in the client Supported Employment Training Program.
  • Will maintain a professional relationship with referral sources, employers, parents, care providers, BARC staff and supervisors, and all other members of the community.
  • Must be available to work any shift assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Access Now Facilitator — ASL

Under the supervision of the Access Now Program Managers, facilitate virtual/remote and community-based programming offered by BARC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be fluent is American Sign Language
  • Must have a valid California Driver License with a good driving record and insurance coverage
  • T.B. clearance will be required
  • CPR-First Aid certification is desirable
  • Background check for Criminal Identification through Department of Justice
  • Previous work or volunteer experience with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferable

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work days may consist of all day virtual and or remote services, or an all-day community-based setting.
  • Responsible for providing case management services to an assigned group of individuals per agency procedures.
  • Encourage individuals to develop appropriate socialization. Also encourages appropriate dress and personal hygiene.
  • Daily tracking of client attendance.
  • Work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and demonstrate positive, appropriate behaviors by serving as a role model.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality along with a professional work environment.
  • Responsible for the development and refinement of Individual’s hard skills and life skills ability to increase individual independence.
  • Provide practical and hands on support to clients through virtual/remote and community-based settings.
  • Provide accurate and timely case notes/files.
  • May be required to provide Mobility/Destination training for participants.
  • Responsible for completing all required documentation and reports per agency procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Attend all required meetings and in-services.
  • Will maintain a professional relationship with referral sources, parents, care providers and appropriate others.
  • Will perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Implement community integration activities, transport clients to and from these activities.
  • Will provide supports related to COVID-19 risk management?
  • Will follow procedures and responsibilities associated with BARC’s Covid-19 Protection Plan and Health and Sanitation Guidelines.
  • Completion of individual assessments necessary to assist in developing person centered plan.
  • Implementation of person-centered plan.
  • Will facilitate remote services delivered via telephone or video communication.
  • Delivery of supplies and other items to the individual’s home.
  • Confirmed use of self-guided materials.
  • Services provided in-person at the individual’s home.
  • Services provided in-person at a community setting.

Job Coach – Supported Employment – Sorting Recyclable Materials

Our Job Coach will be working full time alongside and supervising Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Participation with crew members and clients to ensure that contracts in the community receive excellent service.

Daily tasks include but are not limited to driving BARC vehicle, transporting clients to job sites, sorting recyclable material, other duties as assigned

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend, twist, climb, balance, lift 10 -25 pounds, to meet physical demands of the job. Must be able to follow instructions and clearly communicate with staff and clients

Must be available for shifts as assigned, as contracts require, able to drive company vehicle to job sites within Kern County

  • Previous work or volunteer experience with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferable
